Himalayan Spiritual Retreat 2026
A Journey of Yoga, Meditation, and Inner Stillness
Step into the sacred Himalayan foothills and allow yourself to slow down, breathe deeply, and connect with your inner light. This seven-day retreat in Pharping offers a rare opportunity to immerse yourself fully in the practices of yoga, meditation, and spiritual reflection amidst the serene rhythm of Himalayan life.
Here, time slows. The mountains, monasteries, and sacred rivers become companions on your inner journey. Whether you are taking your first steps into yoga or are a seasoned practitioner, this retreat is designed to nourish the body, quiet the mind, and open the heart.
Pharping: A Sacred Himalayan Setting
Nestled just 20 km from Kathmandu, Pharping is a place where the ancient and the eternal meet. Buddhist monasteries, meditation caves, and forested hills imbue the landscape with stillness and sacred energy. Here, daily life aligns with the rhythm of devotion, and the air itself carries the quiet presence of spiritual practice.
Our retreat venue, situated beside a monastery, provides a peaceful sanctuary where simplicity, mindfulness, and spiritual depth are honored. This environment allows practitioners to let go of the distractions of modern life and open fully to yoga, meditation, and self-inquiry.
The Retreat Experience
Yogasana
Daily sessions focus on alignment, strength, and presence. Each posture becomes a meditation in motion, inviting awareness into the body and helping release tension, increase vitality, and harmonize energy.
Pranayama
Ancient breath practices purify the subtle energy system and awaken inner awareness. Through structured breathwork, participants learn to calm the mind, strengthen concentration, and connect to the life force within.
Meditation
Guided Atma Jyoti Meditation with Yogi Vimal leads participants inward, allowing the mind to settle, clarity to arise, and the heart to open. These sessions are designed to cultivate deep inner stillness and the experience of pure awareness.
Philosophy
In reflective sessions, participants explore the essence of yoga and spirituality — its principles, purpose, and role in creating a life of fulfillment, balance, and joy. Discussions emphasize how the timeless wisdom of yoga can guide everyday living, strengthen relationships, and support meaningful, conscious action in the world.
Devotional Practices
Evenings are dedicated to Bhajan and Kirtan, where the voice and music open the heart and cultivate a sense of unity. Morning rituals at the monastery include sacred mantras and prayers in the presence of devoted monks, offering an intimate connection with living spiritual tradition.
Champadevi Sacred Hike
A guided one-day hike to Champadevi, a sacred hilltop near Pharping. Walking slowly through pine forests, participants practice mindful awareness with each step, pausing to observe nature, breathe deeply, and meditate. The summit provides expansive Himalayan views — a moment of reflection on the inner ascent of yoga and the perspective it offers on life’s journey.

Step Into Stillness
Reconnect With Your Breath
Awaken Your Inner Light
This retreat is an invitation — to pause, to look within, and to align body, mind, and spirit with the sacred rhythm of the Himalayas.
A Message from Yogi Vimal
True peace is not found outside — it is discovered within. Yoga is the bridge that connects body, mind, and spirit.
Each breath, each posture, each moment of silence, is an invitation to awaken to your own light. This retreat offers not just practice, but sacred space a place to rediscover yourself, to touch stillness, and to nurture joy in all areas of life.
May this journey through the Himalayas inspire you to live with awareness, compassion, and harmony, and may the light you cultivate within shine into the world around you.
Yogi Vimal, Founder of Atma Jyoti Yoga Ashram, Rishikesh
This message frames the retreat as a sacred container, inviting each participant to enter deeply into their own inner world while being held by the tranquility of the Himalayan surroundings.
